Director of Music & Organist
David has been Organist & Director of Music at Saint Chad's Metropolitan Cathedral Birmingham since 1978.
He directs the Cathedral Singers, an adult chamber choir of some 16 voices, in repertoire ranging from plainsong and polyphony to the present day. The Cathedral Singers sing at the Sunday 11.30am Mass at Saint Chad's Cathedral during term, as well as Mass on Holydays, and at Christmas, Holy Week and Easter. The Cathedral Singers under David’s direction have broadcast on BBC 1 and Radio 4 and have undertaken concert tours in France, Switzerland and Rome. In recognition of his many decades of involvement with church choral music, David was awarded Fellowship of the Royal School of Church Music (FRSCM).
